Phoenix Wrap Up

I guess there wasn't much specific to add to our blog about our Phoenix getaway. We just spent lots of time soaking up the sun, swimming, and hanging out as a family. I added a few more pictures to the Photo Album. Stay strong, Mid-western friends, your warmth is coming soon! :-)

First Day of Phoenix Vacation

We're spending this week in Phoenix for a family get-away. It's so nice to have warm weather just a couple hours away! The kids spent tons of time in the pool and we also went to the Castles 'n Coasters theme park. It was a fun day, but Aubri started feeling sick tonight and threw up a couple times in the hotel room. Hopefully she feels better tomorrow. There are more photos in the Photo Album, and I'll be adding to it daily this week. Maybe I'll have more to blog about tomorrow.

Raising a Modern Day Knight

Last night we did a ceremony with five other dads and their sons to commit ourselves to raising them to be Godly men. The book we are reading and implementing is called Raising a Modern Day Knight. It uses some of the structure of what knights went through to be trained as knights, and all the principles being taught are Biblical. It emphasizes the importance of ceremonies and memorable events to help the boys have concrete moments to remember as they grow into manhood. This is the first of many ceremonies and memories to come.

Arizona Skiing

Gavin and I got free lift tickets and rentals to downhill ski at Snowbowl this past Saturday. It was so fun! I hope we can do more next season now that we know we have connections. :-)

Storybook Character Costume Contest

Aubri's school had a fun day where everyone dressed up as their favorite story book character and Aubri won a Baskin Robbins gift card for her Pippi Longstocking costume.
