Our new home in Arizona

I thought I'd write a quick blog to let everyone know that we arrived in Arizona safe and sound a few days ago. We're still in the process of living out of boxes and unpacking, but we're getting closer. The church has been so supportive to help us with our transition. As the truck arrived last Thursday, there were several people from the church helping to unload and also put some furniture together. They also set up meals for us for the first week! This morning, someone's coming to pick up our kids and bring them to a parade in town while Sara and I get some more done around the house. We feel so incredibly blessed to have a church community like this ready to serve.

So far, we're loving our new home and community. I'll post some pictures once we get the house arranged a little bit.

Work basically starts for me on Monday morning as I begin to move my stuff into the church and prepare to take over that following Sunday. I'm very excited for the next season of life!

Vacation in Estes Park

The family took a few days to vacation in Estes Park, CO. What a gorgeous area! We stayed in a cabin at the YMCA camp there from Monday to Thursday. There was plenty for the kids to do like swimming, crafts, mini-golf, horseback riding, hiking, biking, and tons of deer and elk to gaulk at. Sara, Gavin, and Aubri got on a plane today to visit Minnesota one last time before we head to Flagstaff. Micah and I stayed here in the Springs to do some packing. I'm sure he'll do a great job unpacking anything I put in a box :) Sara and the kids will be gone for a week, then we'll have about a week to fill our ABF U-Pack trailer. Our stuff will be picked up on the 24th and will arrive in Flagstaff on the 1st of July. We'll have to take our time traveling to our new destination. It sounds like there are many scenic routes and stops we can make on the way. Maybe we'll make one of our last stops at the Grand Canyon... we'll see.

Aubri's 5th Birthday

Today was Aubri's 5th birthday. We had a hawaiian/aquatic/hula sort of theme per Aubri's request. Thankfully we had fitting weather for such a party. Sara made an awesome Barbie cake that everyone loved.
The kids did waterballon fights, hot-tubbing, trampoline, limbo, stick the shades on the flamingo (like Pin the Tail on the Donkey), ate food, and did more hot-tubbing. There are a few more pictures in the photo album.
