Hiking With the Cub Scouts in Sedona

Yesterday Gavin and I joined a Cub Scout troop for a hike. Gavin's not in Scouts but his friend invited us to join them for this special event. We did a 3.6 mile hike through Sedona, which is about 45 minutes south of Flagstaff. It was a perfect day for a hike and Gavin really enjoyed himself. We're considering joining Scouts with this troop. I have great memories from Scouts when I was a kid and I think Gavin would enjoy it too. We'll see...

Kids' Stop Motion Movies

I helped Gavin and Aubri make stop motion animation movies yesterday. It's fun, but it takes way longer to put it together than you would think. Here they are:

Weekend in Phoenix

The family took a weekend trip to Phoenix to warm up a little. While it was 30's and 40's in Flagstaff, it was 70's and 80's just a couple hours south in Phoenix. We stayed in a hotel for a couple nights and found some fun stuff to do with our days. The kids spend plenty of time in the outdoor pool and hot tub even though it was a little cool sometimes. We went to the Children's museum on Sunday and the Phoenix Zoo on Monday. Both were quite nice. It's fun to get away once and a while.
