January Update

Micah asleep in the ER waiting room
Alright, it's time to catch us up a little bit. We had a bit of a scare a few weeks ago as Micah fell down our second floor steps and hit his head hard at the bottom. He wouldn't stop crying for over a half hour and wouldn't let us console him either. His legs were twitching a bit and he wasn't able to walk for a while. We decided to take him to the emergency room and he ended up falling asleep while we waited. The doctor said he probably had a minor concussion and that we needed to keep an eye on him the next few days. He was very slow moving the next day although he seemed normal mentally. The back of his head was very swollen and tender the next few days but he seems to be doing fine now.

Then, on the 18th, Gavin turned 10. He invited a bunch of friends to help celebrate with him. I set up a treasure hunt in the woods. There were 10 clues that eventually led them to the "treasure" of a box of Pringles buried in the snow. They found it way faster than I thought they would! They also had fun shooting balloons outside with the BB gun. He is growing up so fast!
Gavin's birthday party. And yes, they are drinking beer... okay, not really :-)
We had a doctor's appointment for Aubri in Phoenix last week. It's a great luxury to drive for 2 1/2 hours and experience a 40 degree temperature difference. We spent most of the time at a great outdoor park down there that felt like it was climate controlled. It was almost Minnesota cold in Flagstaff the beginning couple weeks of January, but lately it's warmed up to the 40's. Winters are so much more manageable here in Arizona.

Warmth in the winter. So nice!
